Founded in 1998 by Dr Mads Haahr, Lecturer in the School of Computer Science and Statistics at Trinity College Dublin, RANDOM.ORG is the Internet's premier source of true random numbers. As opposed to the pseudo-random number generators commonly used in computer programs, RANDOM.ORG uses atmospheric noise to generate random numbers in a completely nondeterministic fashion. This means that numbers from RANDOM.ORG are unpredictable even to someone who knows the algorithm used.
It should be noted, that while RANDOM.ORG was created and is owned and operated by a Lecturer in Trinity College Dublin, the College has no ownership of the technology or the service and shall have no liability for its operation.
